Suspension of meetings at Royal Russell School and at the Norman Fisher Observatory.
Following revised recommendations from HM Government on the afternoon of 16th March 2020 that people should avoid social gatherings (such as in pubs, theatres, clubs) and not take unnecessary journeys the Committee has taken the decision to suspend all meetings of the Society both at Royal Russell School and at our Observatory.
I can only apologise that this action must be taken, but as you will be aware from press, television and the internet the situation demands that we follow the Governments advice. To do otherwise would be irresponsible and we would be failing in our duty of care to the public and our members.
We will attempt to maintain a “virtual” online presence here on our website, on Facebook and on Twitter but the exact nature of this will evolve over the coming weeks.
On behalf of the Committee we would like to thank you for your understanding and patience in these trying times. We wish all of you and your friends & families good health.
